The BEST Four Wheeler Friendly Campsites in Alberta


Hey, it’s Fred again! Did you know that Alberta has one of the most diverse landscapes across Canada with some of the very best camping locations to bring your toys? Majestic mountainscapes in the west unfold into rolling badlands and scenic prairie to the south, and then give way to lush forests in the north. With so much to offer, I’m counting down my top campsites in Alberta that you have to visit this summer with your favorite four wheeler.


Outwest Camping and RV Park

Make all your ATV dreams come true at Outwest Camping and RV Park! Featuring over 100 drive-through stalls, this ATV-friendly campsite west of Rocky Mountain House has everything you need for an amazing vacation, and even boasts a quad wash bay! Great for large groups, you’ll feel at home away from home.


Poacher’s Landing

Poachers Landing Campsite is located in Poacher's Landing Provincial Recreation Area. This riverside campground has plenty of trails for ATV users to enjoy, and is a great option for campers who live the “less is more” lifestyle. Sites are on a first-come-first-served basis, so make sure to get there early.


Buck Lake Park

Buck Lake Provincial Park campground contains 27 campsites nicely suited for both RVs and tents. Amenities include water, fire pits, dry toilets, picnic tables, refuse containers, boat launch and fish cleaning station. From here you can enjoy the hidden gem that is Rose Creek Trails featuring 56km of mud holes, hillside ravines and natural features that will put your four wheeler skills to the test.


Rocky Top ATV Park

Located in Westlock County, Rocky Top has become a go-to destination for ATV enthusiasts. Campsites feature power, water, firepits, picnic tables, and even showers! This ATV park is catered to individuals of all ages who love to four wheel and camp, and is a great option for families.
