They don’t call it Beautiful British Columbia for nothing! Camping and four wheeling in B.C. is arguably one of my favorite pastimes, so check out my list of the best ATV friendly campsites and let me know if you plan to visit any of these amazing locations this summer!
This ATV and dirt bike friendly campground features mostly forest service roads that are great for beginners, and is also available in the winter for snowmobiles. This full service campground is obviously situated in a beautiful location (hello Whistler!), so it will appeal to all ages and is a great campsite to bring the entire family. Close to paintball, frisbee golf, hiking, and horseback stables, this is arguably one of the best places to make memories with your four wheeler.
Located on the northern shore of Helena Lake, the recreation site is a popular location for fishing, boating and camping. This campsite is motorhome/RV and wheelchair accessible and offers outhouses, a boat launch, and 15 maintained campsites. Helena Lake has direct access to the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail where you can check out one of B.C.’s most mysterious aviation incidents, the DC 6 crash site.
With 77 sites, a shower house with flush toilets, pit toilets, a cookhouse shelter and direct access to Elkford Trails, Elkford Municipal Campground is a great choice for ATV enthusiasts. The Elkford area has hundreds of kilometers of riding with a combination of shared-use trails, power line riding, and forest service roads that run the full 65-kilometer length of the Elk Valley north of Elkford.
This dry camping area has been created to accommodate the motorcycle and atv communities and is perfect for those who want an authentic camping experience. The area encompasses over 85,000 acres of designated riding area and features 350 kms of planned trails for off-road motorcycle and ATVs and shouldn’t be missed by ride enthusiasts.
